The Mont Blanc Region
The Mont Blanc region is located in the haute Savoie, in the Rhone alps department of France. Its namesake, at 4807 is Europe's highest mountain, located at the junction of France, Switzerland and Italy.

Winter
During the winter you can be as active as you want! Whether it be sampling the adrenalin filled delights of an enormous skiable area (both on and off piste!) scaling frozen torrents of ice, or paragliding down from snow laden peaks into a clear blue sky. The more relaxing alternatives may be more to your taste however! World class shopping in Chamonix and Megeve for example, the awe-inspiring mountain views from the peak of the Aguille du Midi. Summer
During the summer months the ski slopes return to being cow and goat pasture, offering an enormous range of easily accessible walking tails of several different difficulty ranges from the high mountain ranges, to the coolness and peace of gorge walking. Mont blanc exerts its centuries old call on the legions who come to summit Europe's highest peak, as well as those after more manageable rock scrambling! Rafting and canoeing are on offer for those wanting to get wet, mountain biking for those who don't, with Para-gliding and hang gliding for those who prefer to take to the skies!
